Jules BE KUTI
Jules’ work is a celebration of diversity, offering a unique perspective on exploration and how diversity can be used to express and exalt our common humanity.
Jules BE KUTI, is a young emerging artist who's art reflects his experience as a black person living in France, as well as his thoughts on the challenges faced by black people in society.
Jules BE KUTI grew up in France and was inspired by the richness of black culture. He thus uses his art as a vehicle for intimate reflection, enabling him to explore the dynamics of memory and identity in a globalized world of increasingly blurred national and cultural borders.
My work focuses on representing the diversity and beauty of the black community, as well as exploring themes such as identity, discrimination, and marginalization.
My focus in painting is on the eyes, nose, and mouth that best express our emotions. I also believe it helps us experience each other’s feelings more intuitively; an exchange of information between the subject’s message and the viewer without words.
My work forces the viewer to engage with the subject’s story physically and emotionally.
